Poppyscotland – PR & Marketing Coordinator
17.5 hours per week – Salary £10,500 pa

Poppyscotland provides life-changing support to our Armed Forces community. We reach out to those who have served, those still serving, and their families. At times of crisis and need we offer them vital practical advice, assistance and funding.
We are recruiting a part-time PR & Marketing Coordinator to support the charity’s ever-increasing programme of year-round activity. This individual will coordinate a variety of marketing projects covering advertising, digital, PR, design and print. They will ensure that requirements are defined and documented, and projects are delivered on time and on budget. The PR & Marketing Coordinator will also play a central role in post campaign evaluation.
Main responsibilities:
- Work with key individuals to establish, assess and analyse their requirements for PR and marketing support, and then formulate written briefs for all campaigns/projects, then evaluate the effectiveness of each campaign.
- Ensure colleagues are fully briefed on each project and monitor their contribution to ensure campaigns are delivered on time.
- Identify and source suitable external suppliers such as designers, photographers, printers, etc as required and ensure they provide the services required in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Ensure all communications comply with brand guidelines, key messages and any legal/statutory requirements
- Support the PR Manager in the delivery of the charity’s PR output and when required work directly with the media to secure positive coverage.
- Coordinate all aspects of annual Scottish Poppy Appeal receptions in Westminster, Holyrood, Inverness and Ayrshire, overseeing the creation and sign-off of guest lists, planning event logistics with each venue and assisting in the development of the content for each event.
- Support the Digital Manager in the delivery of the charity’s digital output, helping to generate content as required.
Key Skills/ Experience
- Experience of working within a PR & Marketing environment.
- Experience of liaising with the media.
- Ability to distil complex requirements into concise and compelling marketing briefs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the enthusiasm to sell our story
- Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills with experience of working with a range of audiences.
- Superb attention to detail and proofreading proficiency
- Effective time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines
