Visit to the Scottish Korean War Memorial

Last week the Events team where able to support the South Korean Ambassador to the United Kingdom, His Excellency Yeocheol Yoon on his visit to the Scottish Korean War Memorial in Bathgate.

 

The service was delivered by Rev Dr Peter Sutton AKC. BD. MTh. DMin. Minister of The Parish Church of St. Cuthbert, Edinburgh City Centre who was previously a commissioned officer in the Black Watch, now the 3rd battalion of The Royal Regiment of Scotland.

The Ambassador laid a wreath alongside Naval Regional Commander Scotland and Northern Ireland, Brigadier Andy Muddiman ADC RM, Commander Headquarters 51st Infantry Brigade Brigadier Jody Davies MBE, Air Officer Scotland Air Commodore Bill Gibson MBE ADC, the National President, Rear Admiral Mark Beverstock, two veterans of the Korea War, Mr Adam McKenzie and Mr Bill Hands.

The Ambassador then spoke to the veterans after a small speech to thank those who helped free his country and then paid his respects those who did not come back he also thanked Legion Scotland, the Scottish Korean War Memorial Trust and West Lothian Council for organising the event.
